Dr. Sketchy's is coming to Chicago

Thanks to CCLaP reader Brenda J. for bringing this to my attention...

New Yorkers are of course already familiar with Dr. Sketchy's Anti-Art School, the regular series of life-drawing classes begun by celebrated "female Crumb" illustrator Molly Crabapple; basically tired of the usual attitudes and model types of most public nude life-drawing sessions, Dr. Sketchy's instead hires such people as burlesque dancers and circus freaks to serve as models, plus holds drawing sessions at hipster bars so that you can have cocktails at the same time.

Well, I'm happy to say that Dr. Sketchy's has finally made it to Chicago as well; the first session is tomorrow, as a matter of fact, Saturday June 23rd, and will be featuring as its first model none other than CCLaP friend Michelle L'Amour -- former winner of the Miss Exotic World contest, host of her own radio show, founder of the Lavender Cabaret and more. The proceedings will start at 3 pm at Five Star Bar and Grill, 1424 W. Chicago Avenue, and will last for three hours; admission is $10, or $15 in advance to guarantee a table. You can check out the Dr. Sketchy MySpace page for more.
