The CCLaP Movie Club?

And speaking of movies....I got an email from a CCLaP reader yesterday that made me laugh, where she admitted that each time I announce what's next on my Netflix* queue list, she runs out and rents the movie herself, so she can watch it before I do and compare her own opinions to my eventual review. And this got me to thinking -- hey, why not formalize that process? It wouldn't really take that much more effort on my part; really just to open a new Google Group on the subject, so that people could voluntarily opt in or out, and receive emails well in advance concerning what the next movie being reviewed will be. That way I can also post links in advance for the truly interested, to various places online where you can learn more about that film; plus of course group members would be able to easily share their own thoughts with each other as well, letting CCLaP finally get a group discussion going about the arts for the first time.

Anyway, if you're interested, just drop me (Jason Pettus) a line at cclapcenter [at] gmail.com; if I get five or more letters, I'll go ahead and open the group, and send invites out to those first people before then opening it up to the public.

*And by the way -- no, I don't get secretly paid to mention Netflix or Google here, nor any other company that ends up getting mentioned at the CCLaP site for whatever reason. I believe that bloggers should be transparent about that information, even as I believe that it doesn't need to actually be mentioned that often.
