Keyboard broken! CCLaP on short hiatus! Crap!

keyboard.jpg

So how much of an idiot am I? I spilled an entire cup of tea on my keyboard this morning! Thankfully the majority of the keys are working right again, with the exception of m, u, and j (which I reproduced here by copying the letters from previous documents and pasting them where needed in this entry); unfortunately that's an extremely labor-intensive way to write a blog entry, something I wouldn't even have a chance of maintaining on a daily basis. It's for this reason that I'm going to have to temporarily put the CCLaP website on hold, until I'm able to acquire a new keyboard; whether that's tomorrow or two weeks from now is anyone's guess, although I'm hoping it won't be much longer than that at the maximum. And speaking of which, if you happen to live in Chicago yourself, and just happen to own a spare macintosh keyboard, I do hope you'll give some thought to simply donating it to the center, where it would be of much use! I have a bike, after all, and it's still warm enough to get all over the city that way, so can easily come by and pick up such a keyboard at a place in the city that's convenient to you; and of course the sooner I can acquire a replacement keyboard, the sooner I'll be back to posting entries again.

Anyway, my apologies for what will undoubtedly be a delay here of at least a couple of days, if not significantly more; this of course is what happens when you try opening an arts organization with absolutely no budget whatsoever, and while unemployed to boot. Here's hoping I'll be back to updating again very soon.

Keyboard incidents are terrifying. Last fall, I spilled enough wine on my laptop mid-review-of-final-book-draft to evoke the wrath of the literary gods and my publisher for a month.

The poor thing never did come back from its watery, albeit inebriated, grave. That was a long rewrite. Hope yours is less painful.

Good luck with your keyboard hunt.
