Obsession of the moment: Julie & Jackie

Julie & Jackie

So continuing the video-centric week CCLaP is having right now, today's obsession is the Los Angeles-based comedy duo Julie & Jackie, who not coincidentally are made up of LA comedians Julie Klausner and Jackie Clarke, and who have lots and lots of video online for your downloading and streaming pleasure. I don't have a lot to say about them, frankly, except that they're funny, funny, funny; do make sure in particular to check out their running joke about the clueless society women with their own public-access show, where the editing and transition effects are half of the entire humor. Oh, and if you live in the LA area, you can also check out a monthly live show of theirs at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, where they interview famous and non-famous people about the various obsessions they have in their lives; recent guests include Village Voice gossip columnist Michael Musto talking about his obsession with Suzanne Somers, of which for some reason I just love the entire concept. Funny!
