Good news to report today; that after a month of being offline here at CCLaP headquarters (i.e. my Chicago apartment), because of a snafu with a freelance client, the ol' information superhighway is once again barreling through my steaming-hot Mac Mini here at home, and I'm once again ready to resume a full schedule. Yeah, I know, it's about time, you're telling me! And the good news for all of you is that I've still been maintaining a full writing schedule for this website, despite having spotty access to it at best over the last month; it leaves me with a wealth of already completed content just waiting to be posted, which will hopefully lead to a good three to five entries here almost every single day from now until at least after the holidays. Anyway, I thank you for sticking in there through the long and very frustrating brownout that CCLaP just went through, and hope you'll enjoy all the artistic goodness stacked up on the backburner here, which I'll be releasing in daily doses throughout this upcoming autumn and winter.
Speaking of which, I wanted to alert those who weren't already aware that I will be in St. Louis, Missouri, for a week-long visit soon, from the 20th through 27th to be precise, to celebrate the American holiday Thanksgiving with my family; I am actively looking for creative organizations, shows, artists, spaces and more in the St. Louis area to feature here at the CCLaP site while on my visit, and especially any in the St. Charles area where I'll be specifically staying. For example, one of the things I've already lined up is an upcoming episode of the CCLaP Podcast featuring my childhood friend, St. Louis musician Ken Kase; we'll do a traditional interview at first, then do one of those "soundscape" tours I like so much, over to Ken's rehearsal space and for a listen-in at one of their actual rehearsals. Any tips or heads-up you might have for other interesting cultural/creative things for me to do while there, especially along an underground or self-publishing/producing bent, can be sent to cclapcenter [at] gmail.com.
And since I have you, I just thought I'd let you know that the CCLaP virtual photography gallery is finally almost complete; turned out unfortunately during my brownout that the very last couple of steps towards being finished (things like setting up the physical merchandise, for example, that will eventually be for sale with each exhibition) were just too complex and time-consuming of projects to do in small snatches at internet cafes, a situation I can now finally do something about, now that the signal here at home is yet again up and running. I'm hoping that this will let me have every single detail left concerning the first show finished and online in just another week or so, hopefully leading to a November 20th opening just in time for me to head to St. Louis. Cross your fingers and wish me luck on that deadline, at any rate.
Anyway, that's it from around here for now; and like I said, I hope you'll have a chance to come by regularly again, to check out the increased amount of daily content you'll now find here, now that the weather is turning colder here in Chicago and I'm doing a lot more reading/movie-watching and a lot less bicycling and other exercising.
