Yet more interestingness: 31 March 2008

Below are simple links to other interesting stuff I've come across on the web in the last day or two; they may or may not concern literature or photography, or indeed the arts at all. You can click here to learn more about how I compile this list and what software I use, if you're interested.

Prominent conservatives start publicly endorsing Obama for first time
They're called "Obamacans," and the group includes Mitt Romney's ex-senior legal adviser as well as Dwight Eisenhower's granddaughter; here, a nice long article in the New York Sun on why more and more anti-war conservatives are switching parties these days.

Vatican report: Now officially more Muslims on the planet than Catholics
Vatican researchers have announced that Islam is now the single largest religious denomination on the planet, 19 percent of the population (1.3 billion) versus Catholicism's 17 percent (1.1 billion). Of course, all Christians added together are 33 percent of the populace, or 2.2 billion people.

British Airways has lost 20,000 bags at Heathrow since Thursday
Have you heard about Heathrow's new $8 billion Terminal 5 in London? It's a disaster! Here, Boing Boing does a nice little overview of all the problems, including a mindboggling 20,000 bags that have been lost in just the first three days of it opening.

Defeated Congressman: "F-ck you, electorate, I'm quitting seven months early"
Rep. Albert Wynn from Maryland, defeated in this most recent election, has decided to quit his incumbent seat seven months before he's scheduled to leave, basically as a giant "f-ck you" to the state that wouldn't re-elect him. Nice! God bless American politics!
