Line forms at Apple flagship store for no particular reason at all
No one knows why the main Manhattan Apple store put out line-forming ropes, and the people who have gotten in line don't know what they're waiting for. This is just...I...I literally don't know how to react to this news.

Report: "Both smoking and quitting are much more social than we realized"
New report claims that both smoking and quitting smoking are influenced much more than we've realized by our friends' habits, peer pressure, cigarette tolerance/intolerance at people's homes, etc, with entire cliques tending to quit at once instead of individuals within those cliques.

Cannes 2008: "Meh"
After a memorable year for films in 2007, this year's Cannes Film Festival is most noted for its lack of excitement, according to Reuters. Here, their round-up of the '08 festival.

McCain to pastors: "Er, please stop endorsing me, you freaking nutjobs"
John McCain is forced this week to publicly repudiate two televangelists who had been publicly supporting him, after a tape reveals one of them calling Hitler a "messenger from God" who did a great thing by forcing Jews to return to Israel.
