Yet more interestingness: 29 May 2008

Below are simple links to other interesting stuff I've come across on the web in the last day or two; they may or may not concern literature or photography, or indeed the arts at all. You can click here to learn more about how I compile this list and what software I use, if you're interested.

Hot woman put on magazine cover, pisses everyone off
Of course, the hot woman in question is former Gawker gossip columnist Emily Gould, penning an 8,000-word essay about how narcissistic and egotistical she is, and how she deserves to be on the cover of the NYT for being so narcissistic and egotistical, which the NYT was happy to do.

Remember Senator Ted Stevens, the doddering old man of "the internet is a series of tubes" fame? Well, now he's lashing out against the 21st Century GI Bill, claiming that soldiers are greedy and will merely quit the military early if such post-tour perks are offered.

Schadenfreude Alert: Borders is bleeding money like a stuck pig

It's July 27th; and by the way, the show will be airing on Sunday evenings this particular season.

Thousands of angry sorority girls almost start riot at "Sex" premiere
Turns out there was a ticket snafu at the NYC premiere, leaving thousands of contest winners out in the cold; and they were so pissed, they almost broke through police barricades and stormed Radio City Music Hall. None of this would happen, ladies, if you would just go out and get yourself a husband like the movie instructs you to!

Rachael Ray wears keffiyeh-looking scarf, everyone completely freaks out
An entire ad campaign by Dunkin' Donuts featuring Rachel Ray has been pulled, after people noticed that a scarf she's wearing looks vaguely like a pro-Palestinian keffiyeh. Sheesh.

China is angry at Sharon Stone
So are we, China. So are we. Oh, wait, you're not talking about "Basic Instinct 2?"

McCain challenges Obama to visit Iraq, offers to travel with him
That's not a bad idea, actually.
