Obsession of the moment: The Collective Family

The Collective Family

Regular readers know that I am making a concentrated effort this year to start learning a lot more about the contemporary indie music scene, after spending a decade away from the subject; and in that respect, I wanted to point out a website I find myself coming back to over and over again, known as The Collective Family over at cllct.com. Like many of the recommendations I make here regarding music, I don't have a lot to actually say about The Collective Family; it's simply a great destination, a place to find lots and lots of songs in all kinds of genres that unbelievably enough are both free and don't suck, all of them voluntarily uploaded by the artists themselves and with a strong community aspect to the entire thing. I've found myself wandering through their archives quite a bit over the last several weeks, and I bet you'll find yourself doing so as well.
