Yet more interestingness: 30 July 2008

Below are simple links to other interesting stuff I've come across on the web in the last day or two; they may or may not concern literature or photography, or indeed the arts at all. You can click here to learn more about how I compile this list and what software I use, if you're interested.

The army is now recruiting children outside amusement parks
Have you heard about the "Virtual Army Experience?" It's a traveling recruitment experiment by the US Army, done in the style of an amusement-park ride, which has been setting up in various Six Flags parking lots all summer long. Sigh.

Jon Voight: "Obama is the Antichrist and will kill us all"
The Oscar-winning actor goes COMPLETELY BATSH-T CRAZY, penning a special op/ed for "The Washington Times" claiming that if Obama is elected, he will lead us to a nuclear apocalypse triggered by losing the "war on terrorism." I am not joking!

The latest victim of the New Depression: Tacky suburban chain restaurants
Amazing news for all of those who despise tacky, cheap, soulless suburban restaurant chains; Bennigan's has gone out of business, and will be closing all 200 of their stores later this year. Who's next, motherf-ckers? TGIFriday's, I'm looking at you!

Microsoft: "No, seriously, you love Vista and you just don't know it! Seriously!"
Microsoft shows a video of Windows Vista in action to customers, calling it the upcoming "Mojave," and claims that customers love it under the fake name. Notice, though, that they showed them a -VIDEO-, which of COURSE showed Vista working perfectly.
