It's called "Inherent Vice," set in the late 1960s, and is described by the publisher as "part noir, part psychedelic romp." It comes out August 4th, according to this Amazon listing. (Via Fimoculous.com.)
EU capital has highest unemployment of entire Europe
Wow, what a great article from the new GlobalPost.com, regarding the irony of Brussels (administrative home of the EU, and one of the richest cities in Europe) also having the highest unemployment rate of the entirety of Western Europe (a whopping 17 percent, versus 8 percent in the US), and with their poor essentially shuttled off to their own entire side of the city and promptly ignored by the rich side. An eye-opening article about the ugly reality behind the shiny dream of the EU.
Almost a dozen LOLcat-style paper books will be published this year
