...And we're back

It's a happy day here at CCLaP's temporary headquarters, down in suburban St. Louis, Missouri -- my routine here is finally getting a little more settled down, which means that I can finally start getting regular updates to the CCLaP site again, starting today. Well, thank God for that! Things have unfortunately been on hiatus here now for almost three weeks, because of a pretty serious bicycle accident I had at the end of July (for those who still don't know, I was "doored" by someone in a parked car, leading to both a broken hip and broken hand -- stop by my Facebook account [facebook.com/jasonpettus] if you'd like to know more, and see lots of semi-gross photos), so needless to say that I'm happy to finally get active here again. Anyway, I hope that you'll have a chance to stop by every day again for the latest; and of course I appreciate you mentioning all this at your own blog if you have one, to help get the word out to those who haven't been stopping by for regular updates.

"Well, that's all fine and good," I hear you saying, "but what can I do to help out with CCLaP getting back up to speed again?" Oh, I'm glad you asked! Because the simple fact is that most of the contemporary books I review here I end up acquiring through Chicago's excellent public library system; but with me cooped up for the next few months at my parents' place in suburban St. Louis, needless to say that my access to contemporary books has dropped now to almost zero. For those who would like to help out with this situation, I've recently updated the CCLaP book wishlist over at Amazon; it's nearly 400 titles big at this point, in fact, so I'm sure there's at least one book in there that you would undoubtedly like to see me cover. For those who have been wondering if there was any small thing they could do to help CCLaP get back to full speed, that would be it -- to pick a title off my wishlist, and purchase either a new or used copy of it over there at Amazon for me. At that point, then, Amazon will complete the process for you, and automatically ship the book to me here at my temporary address without you having to do anything else.

Anyway, like I said, I look forward to getting daily updates posted here again to the CCLaP site, and I hope you'll have a chance to start stopping by again daily, and also to help me get the word out through your own blog that the site is once again active. Oh, and to all you publishers who have already sent in a copy of your book for review -- unfortunately, almost all of your books are sitting in my apartment in Chicago as we speak, which I will not have access to again until November at the earliest. I appreciate your patience with it all, and rest assured that I will eventually be getting to your title this fall, even if means in some cases not until the second half of the season. My thanks as always for hanging in there.
