I heard last week from a friend of mine and longtime supporter of the center, Chicago musician Patrick Spiroff; turns out that he has recently started up a brand-new one-man band called Borodin, and is out starting to play live shows these days under the moniker for the first time. He was kind enough to pass along several of the new songs, which I really enjoyed (I'll be featuring one of them, in fact, in CCLaP's next music special), so wanted to make a small mention of it here as well, in the hopes that you might like them too. He's set up an official Facebook page for the project, including streaming versions of all the new songs; I encourage you to join the group yourself if you have a chance, especially since it will help convince local venues to start booking him more often.
