Beachy announces cancer fundraiser for Dave Thomas

Cancer fundraiser for Dave Thomas

I heard this morning from local author and CCLaP friend Kyle Beachy, about a coming event that deserves your attention...

Many locals already know Dave Thomas, an artist himself and a big supporter of the Chicago artistic community; unfortunately Dave was diagnosed with cancer recently, a battle he successfully fought but has left him in a massive financial crisis. To help take a chink out of this, his friends have decided to throw a fundraiser party, which will be happening on April 21st at local hipster venue The Empty Bottle. It'll feature at least the bands Follow, The Record Low and Amelea Tschilds, with perhaps more being added, and will also feature a plethora of small-press material and visual artwork that you will be able to purchase to help out even more. (By the way, the group is looking for more donations from small presses, for out-of-towners who would like to help out too.) You can check out all the details at the special website they've set up, found at NicestManInChicago.com.
