My grateful thanks to everyone who got to come out to CCLaP's first live literary event this weekend, down at the ad-hoc cultural center The Op Shop in Hyde Park; around 40 people showed up altogether, a larger crowd than I was expecting for the holiday weekend. Here above is a sampling of the photos I took that night, with all thirty of them available over at my Flickr account if you want; and don't forget of course to check out the recording that was made of the show, which is also being released today as the newest episode of the CCLaP Podcast. My many thanks once again to Laura Shaeffer and Rachel Tredon at the Op Shop for hosting us, Erik Cameron for providing the sound, and of course authors Sally Weigel, Ben Tanzer, Jason Fisk, Mark Brand and Katherine Hodges, especially for their commitment to writing new pieces just for this show.

If I haven't mentioned it, by the way, CCLaP's next event is coming up on Saturday, June 12th, although this time it's only a social event, and is actually just a much smaller part of a larger event going on around it; it is in fact a reader meet-up down at the Printers Row Book Fair, the largest book fair in the Midwest and a pretty big deal each summer for the city's literary community. Next week I'll be posting all the details, but basically we'll be meeting up in the late afternoon at a pub down in the neighborhood itself, as we've done in years past as well; people in the CCLaP group will all be wearing little red dots on their shirts, to make us easier to find. I hope to see you then!
