So yes, Faithful Reader, in your humble narrator's quest to get as much accomplished this fall as humanly possible, it seems that I've bitten off just a little more than I can chew; and so between getting out Katherine Scott Nelson's new book about a month ago, then throwing a party for it a few weeks later, then having a very rewarding but very busy experience at the inaugural Chicago Book Expo this last weekend (see my Flickr account for photos from all of these things), it looks like I'm not going to have Ben Tanzer's new double-release ready today like promised, the electronic So Different Now and the deluxe paper edition of The New York Stories. So, I'm pushing off the release date for both of those until Monday, December 5th; and that will line up nicely with the big holiday fundraiser we're basing around the book, taking place that Saturday, December 10th, down at the historic "Fenn House" Victorian mansion in the far-south Chicago neighborhood of Hyde Park (but more on that after Thanksgiving). My apologies to those who were looking forward to checking out the books today; please hang in there just a little bit longer!

Ah, but I do at least have one official copy actually made of The New York Stories, so I could show it off at the book expo last weekend, and it's a stunner; I have to confess, it came out even better than the wildest dreams I've been having about it over the last year of conceptualizing the project, and it was easily the most talked-about thing at our booth last weekend. I'm including some photos of it above, to help tide all you Tanzer and Szumowski fans over during the few weeks it's still going to take to have copies for sale. We'll be back to our usual schedule around here right after Thanksgiving, I swear! As always, I appreciate your patience during this busy holiday season, and I look forward to getting these books out to you and the rest of CCLaP's reading audience.
