The Year In Books 2011

The Year In Books 2011

Well, it was another good year for the CCLaP blog -- between staff writer Oriana Leckert and myself, we managed to read and review a total of 122 books this year, around a hundred of which were published in the last 24 months and thus eligible for these best-of lists at the end of the year. Here this week, then, is a look again at a total of 40 of these books, broken up into specific themed lists, plus a look by Oriana at her ten favorite reads of the year in general, regardless of whether a review got written of it for CCLaP. The schedule is listed below; if a particular item is hyperlinked, it means it's now finished and posted online...

Monday: Best Of The Best
Tuesday: Also Worth A Second Look
Wednesday: Oriana Leckert's Favorites
Thursday: Best Experimental and Cutting-Edge
Friday: The CCLaP Guilty Pleasure Awards

And then early next week, I'll also post this series as a free downloadable ebook (and for $5 at the Kindle Store), for those who prefer to read large essays like these in a book form that they can take on the go. I hope you enjoy them all, and here's to another busy and productive year here at the blog! Don't forget, I'm constantly on the lookout for essayists who match the "CCLaP ethos" and would be interested in posting reviews here throughout the year; to see if you're eligible, just drop me a line at cclapcenter [at] gmail.com.
