Well, it's a couple of weeks late, but I'm happy to say that the annotated version of Scott Navicky's February novel with CCLaP, the intellectual absurdist comedy Humboldt: Or, The Power of Positive Thinking, is finally online for your free downloading pleasure. As those who have read this surprise hit already know, this book is not just a funny romp through the most pretentious environments the US has to offer, it's also a cornucopia of insider references and sly jokes to the books, musicians, authors and public thinkers that are well-loved within these environments, hundreds upon hundreds of them when all is said and done; so when we were first putting the book together in autumn 2013, we thought it'd be fun if Scott sat and made all these hundreds and hundreds of references explicit in an edition of the book that explains it all, and to just slap it up at the website for free download just as a little easter-egg treat for the book's most hardcore fans. Well, as the delay already tells you, this project ended up being a more daunting task than we first imagined it would be, but I'm happy to say that the annotated edition is now finished, with enough new writing to constitute an entire novella of its own; so just stop by the book's main headquarters and scroll halfway down the page to download a free copy for yourself.

And as long as we're on the subject, I want to thank everyone who made it out to Scott's crowded and fun release party for Humboldt, held the other weekend at the Book Loft in Columbus, Ohio; they sold thirty copies when all is said and done, and another ten at the bookstore in the week since the party, and apparently a good time was had by all. And speaking of live events, I have some news to share soon about fellow CCLaP author Fernando A. Flores and some high-profile performances he'll be doing all around Texas soon; but that'll be coming in an update tomorrow, so I hope you'll have a chance to stop by again then!
