My big thanks to everyone who came out to this week's CCLaP Showcase, over at City Lit Books in the Logan Square neighborhood. The show was packed this month, all in anticipation of seeing the great Eric Charles May read from his novel Bedrock Faith, and a fun and energetic time was had by all. (But don't take my word for it -- see this great review of the show penned by our friends at Chicago Literati, which is quickly becoming the go-to location for write-ups on the various live literary events taking place all over the city.)

CCLaP Showcase: Amber Hargroder

Oh, and look who's going to be our feature at our August show! It's local playwright Amber Hargroder, who will be performing from various works of hers, including her recent solo hit Marilyn Monroe, Whoever You Are. As always, it'll be at 2523 N. Kedzie starting at 6:30 pm, on Tuesday August 26th; and don't forget that we'll also have six open-mic slots open as well, so if you'd like to book one of those in advance, please just drop us a line at cclapcenter [at] gmail.com. Don't forget to stop by the Facebook event page for more information, and we look forward to seeing all you Chicagoans there!
